Cathy Mark

Inspired by years of exploring and living in Northern B.C. Cathy illustrates her many encounters with majestic local wildlife In unique, one of a kind, moose antler carvings. With a great respect for her environment Cathy uses mostly shed moose and deer antlers. The bone is extremely dense and difficult to work with. The natural color variations add character to the carvings as Cathy incorporates it into the designs. Spending hundreds of hours viewing, visualizing and hand carving each piece her works capture the true spirit of the north. Her expertise is seen in the fine details of the animals and scenery etched into her work. Look closely and you too can experience the Beauty of Northern British Columbia, Canada.
Artist notes: I have been living and raising my family in northern B.C. for twenty eight years. We fell in love with the beauty and wildlife in the lush nature of the north. My family loves the outdoors and we spent many hours playing in the bush, and finding places to go fishing. I started carving fifteen years ago and was delighted to discover I had a talent at bringing life into the antlers. Due to a disability I will only be able to produce a few pieces. Now I would like to share them with you. I hope you enjoy looking at them.
